Our Bereavement Group runs weekly over 6 weeks. The sessions are for secondary age children who have been referred to Butterflies.  Please book a place below for the young person you are supporting if you have received an invitation to attend via e-mail.

At first, the idea of taking part in group therapy can seem intimidating. Sharing your story and thoughts with strangers can feel scary. But group therapy, in which a Butterflies counsellor leads a small group of up to 8 people, can be very helpful - and after attending their first session, the vast majority of those who came along found they loved it.

Here's what children said they felt before attending: Here's what they said after their first session:
"A bit anxious because I didn't know them" "Happy, relieved, free of worries"
"Scared and feeling if I was going to be criticised" "I felt a bit better because I knew everyone"
"a bit worried because I thought it would be different" "So, so, so, so, so happy"

Hearing from others with similar issues can help you see that you're not alone in facing challenges - many  young people experience a sense of relief. Hearing how other people deal with their problems can be very encouraging.
