Strategies and activities to use with Looked After Children who have experienced bereavement - Training for Foster Carers - Part 2 Learning objectives: Increased confidence and awareness for professionals supporting CYP who have experienced bereavement To look at activities and strategies to use when offering support To increase confidence in using resources by participating in some table activities To understand the therapeutic value of using practical activities and the impact they can have To look at coping strategies for the Foster Carer Information about your trainer: Tracy Allen-Lea is the CYP Services Manager for Listening Ear and has worked within Listening Ear’s CYP therapeutic services for the last 10 years. She has delivered both 1:1 and group therapy for CYP. She has extensive knowledge of CYP experiencing bereavement, loss, family breakdown, sudden death, murder, manslaughter, suicide, CLA, domestic abuse and pre bereavement work. She has co created a mental health app and also a therapeutic, electronic monitoring outcomes measure. Tracy has designed a bespoke, activity based, therapeutic intervention to use with CYP who are living with a parent with a life limited diagnosis. She also delivers training to staff and volunteers in our bespoke, award winning, activity based, Butterflies programme, and has written numerous training programmes which have been delivered externally to professionals. She has trained in the use of multiple approaches such as art therapy and multi systemic work and is an accredited professional member of the National Hypnotherapy Society as a fully qualified Hypnotherapeutic Counsellor.
