174 gets a bright new interior Listening Ear's '174' therapy centre has been given a face-lift thanks to a group of Santander Bank staff from across Merseyside. The staff were taking part in a 'Discovery Day', where they work to help charities and community organisations as part of Santander's commitment to social responsibility and community involvement. The reception area, corridors, counselling rooms - in fact, the whole of the building's interior - were given a makeover after a busy three years had taken their toll. The hundreds of children and young people who use 174 each year to attend our Butterflies project will certainly notice a big difference, thanks to the interior repainting work undertaken by the group. Paint and equipment for the job were donated by Community Repaint Liverpool. Richard Brown, CEO of Listening Ear said the difference was remarkable, adding: "We'd like to thank all the staff from Santander who contributed their time and energy to this work, which I know will be appreciated by the children and young people who attend Butterflies." Tracey Allen-Lea, Services Manager at 174 described the team as "brilliant ambassadors for Santander" and said they had "helped us to provide welcoming rooms for all the children and young people and their families to come in to at a time in their lives when they are at their lowest."
