Listening Ear is very grateful for the time, commitment and talents which each of its volunteers contributes to our services.

We have opportunities for individuals to support us with the delivery of services or to help with the administration of Listening Ear.

Currently 22 volunteers provide an incredible 240 hours of support to community members in need each month.  It all adds up to a significant benefit not only to the people who use Listening Ear's services, but to our staff, the local community and to the volunteers themselves.

Here's what some of our volunteers have said:

"I'm volunteering to support a valuable free service and be a part of a reputable, professional and caring team"

"I  volunteer to give people access to free counselling who otherwise wouldn't get the help they need"

"Volunteering gives me a chance to develop my own counselling skills while giving something back to the community"

We want our volunteering pathway to be mutually beneficial: we support our volunteers in the same way we support our staff, with regular line-management, access to CPD opportunities and free monthly clinical supervision.

Volunteering within Listening Ear provides experience of working within a BACP accredited busy and successful mental health organisation. We offer the highest quality assurances in regards to your placement. In return, volunteers help Listening Ear to fulfill its vision of delivering more free support services, to more people in need, in more places.
